2011 in Review
Deke took it easy this year on hunt tests only running two, Salt Valley HRC in Nebraska and Midway HRC in Missouri. We took in friends of ours' dog, Goose, for five months while they relocated and did some training with him. Jon-Michael was also made part of the Avery Pro-Staff this year.
The hunting was poor due to the unseasonably warm weather. We got in a few good duck hunts in Indiana in late November and early December but that was about it for fall.

Not a lot has happened as far as training and hunt tests since last year but a lot of other stuff has been going on! We moved to Illinois in November where Jon-Michael has filled an Air Force recruiting spot in Champaign, IL. The guys did get a few goose hunts in this year in between work and honey-do's but with a new job and a new house, poor Deke hasn't seen much action other than roaming around his new 5 acres.
We're slowly easing back into it though. Just met some friendly people at the Hoosier HRC Club this past weekend and also bought a new dog box for Deke to ride around in style. It's a two hole so who knows how soon JM will be looking to fill it up! Hopefully we'll start finding some new training ground nearby and maybe some new people to train with. If there's anyone out there in the area that would be interested in getting together, let us know.
We plan on trekking it to Lincoln, Nebraska's hunt test next month. Mostly to socialize with old friends but we'll see if Deke (and JM) have still got "it"!
